ABOUT THE FARM

MISSION STATEMENT

At Satellite Acres, we honor God’s commandment to be faithful sustainability stewards of the land and all He has entrusted to us. Through regenerative, pasture-raised practices, we care for creation with reverence—raising animals in harmony with nature, nurturing soil health, and cultivating abundance that blesses our community. Our mission is to produce wholesome, ethically raised food while reflecting the Creator’s design for flourishing life.

OUR STORY

Our story is a real-life Green Acres journey. I grew up on a farm in Indiana before serving in the Air Force and later contracting for NASA, which brought me to the Washington, D.C. area. Amy, a lifelong military kid, eventually settled in Bowie, Maryland—where we met through church friends in 2008 and married later that year.

Amy left the workforce in 2009 to focus on our home, and as retirement approached, we began looking for a meaningful new chapter. In 2015, after discovering Joel Salatin and others practicing regenerative farming, we felt called to a stewardship-focused approach to raising animals—one aligned with God’s charge in Genesis 1:28 to care for the earth.

Our original plan was to move to southern Virginia, but when our daughter Caroline married Dustyn, whose family is rooted locally, we shifted course. Southern Anne Arundel County became the perfect place to farm while staying close to family.

In 2025, Satellite Acres came to life with our first 10 feeder pigs and 100 Freedom Ranger chickens. We’ve never worked harder—or with more joy. This farm is our American dream: faith-driven, family-centered, and built on responsible stewardship.
Welcome to Satellite Acres.
